Toyota's Sticker Shock: 33,000 Vehicles Recalled for Misleading Information
Toyota Recalls 33,000 Vehicles Due to Incorrect Distributor Stickers
March 8, 2023
Toyota has announced a recall of approximately 33,000 vehicles due to inaccurate stickers placed on the distributor caps. These stickers contain incorrect information regarding the distributor's timing, which could lead to engine performance issues.
The affected vehicles include certain model years of the Camry, Corolla, and RAV4. Toyota has identified that the incorrect stickers were installed during a previous repair or maintenance procedure.
The incorrect stickers can cause the engine to run rough, stall, or experience reduced power. In severe cases, it could lead to engine damage.
Toyota is urging owners of affected vehicles to contact their local dealership to schedule a free inspection and replacement of the incorrect stickers. The repair is expected to take approximately 30 minutes.
Owners can also check if their vehicle is affected by visiting Toyota's recall website or by calling the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331.
